Trowell was founded in Hong Kong.

One of their design philosophies is that tools are universal and must adapt to different needs. The T8 Razor was their first product and to fit into their stated philosophy it would have to be adjustable.

They launched a Kickstarter campaign in February 2026.

The initial offering was only one razor which was a Dual Comb with two finishes - Satin or Polished and two inserts - Red or Blue. They also offered a case for the razor as an extra.
Sometime into the campaign they added an Open Comp and a Solid Bar and at this point I changed my order and opted for:
Solid Bar - Red insert - Satin finish PLUS a case.
Open Comb - Blue insert - Polished finish PLUS a case.

T8 stands for:
T - Titanium
8 - The numbering on the dial

How to dismantle your Trowell

1 - The razor came with a little key to dismantle it.
2 - First step is to remove the TopCap.
3 - Second Step is to remove the twist knob. Loosen it and pull it out, there is an O-Ring that keeps it in place.
4 - Once the twist knob is out, there are two holes at the bottom of the barrel that the key fits into - loosen the barrel.
5 - The barrel holds everything together and once it is loosened everything comes apart.
6 - To Reassemble - reverse the process.
